Julia works in sculpture, photography, film and installation, frequently exploring the history and anthropology of an object.

Her site specific exhibition at the Brunel Museum, has been inspired by the incredible engineering achievements of both March Brunel and his son Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Their innovations the Great Western Railway, the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Box Bridge and a series of steamships including the first propeller-driven transatlantic steamship and numerous important bridges, tunnels and viaducts!

Through the application of found, ready made tools that reflect the Industrial craft skills of that time, made from a range of metals and wood, Julia aimed to create a series of sculpture that could uphold a sense of simplicity of both line and form.
